State of Mind

Macbeth’s state of mind changes drastically throughout the text. He lets events in his life have a major effect on his emotion and mental state.

“Macbeth: Liar and slave!.

Messenger: Let me endure your wrath, if’t not be so, Within this three mile may you see it coming, I say a moving grove.

Macbeth: If thou speak false, Upon the next tree thou shalt hang alive!”

This quote shows that as everything Macbeth has done begins to fall apart and get back at him he becomes angry and full of uncontrollable rage. This blind rage takes over above all other emotion and is what eventually leads him to his death. Shakespeare is trying to show us as a viewer that without control over severe emotion
